The Children and Family Research Center developed outcome based
training as part of a federal grant. Each module covers different
aspects of outcome management. The training modules can be easily
downloaded and adapted to meet an agency's specific needs. The
modules are intended to help child welfare professionals
incorporate outcome management into their daily practice. The
modules retain an emphasis on sound practice while increasing
focus on outcomes management.
The modules are not designed to be web based training curriculums.
Instead the curriculums should be downloaded in their original
format (PowerPoint) and adapted to fit the agency/region's needs.
All of these modules are accompanied by a train-the-trainers manual.
The modules require a trainer from the agency/region to review the
train-the-trainers manual, adapt the curriculum to fit their
specific needs, and conduct the training for their staff. The
train-the-trainers manuals can be downloaded in their original
format (Microsoft Word) and adapted.
None of the modules have been updated since March 2005. As a result,
the modules contain some out dated information. The modules also
refer to a website in Illinois that included performance data. This
website is no longer available. Agencies will need to obtain their
own performance data to supplement the modules.
The outcome modules along with the train-the-trainers modules that are
available include:
Permanence
Safety
Placement Stability
Training for Managers
Program Evaluation
